Ormoc Ballet Center burst on the Ormoc horizon in the 1980's to awaken the community to the wonders and magic of the classical dance. After some dormant years, it re-established its presence last Oct. 12, 2002.
The Ormoc Ballet Center Dance Program, specializing in Classical Ballet, is one designed to guide students from their very first acquaintance with dance thru a full course of study.
The School accepts 3 year old students to its Creative Movement Pre-ballet Classes. And from there takes them through seven different levels of a graded curriculum based on the Vaganova (Russian) Syllabus. The Program has been carefully organized to increase the students' technical skills and stamina, with special emphasis on placement, line and STYLE.
The School reaches out to the young student who aspires to be a dancer, training not only the muscles, but also the mind, developing strength, achieving grace, remembering always that the stars of tomorrow are the students of today.
At the same time, the School acknowledge that not everyone of the students will pursue a dance career, and to this end has structured the classes to demand concentration and discipline, qualities which will serve the students the rest of their lives.
